  • Overview

    The Systems Configuration Administrator will provide support and in-depth troubleshooting of any issues related to the SCCM environment. Including, but not limited to create and update operating system image repositories, enterprise-wide patching, software deployment, creation and update of documentation, and provide SCCM custom reporting. 

    Duties & Responsibilities

    • Ensure timely deployment of software updates, critical patches, and out-of-band releases. Run audit reports and create custom reports in SCCM for compliance purposes, security audits, and software inventory/asset management. Create and implement SCCM client policies for accurate software/hardware inventory, patch level, 3rd party software compliance, and etc.
    • Create, implement, and deploy images for enterprise workstations and servers utilizing technologies such as Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT)/Windows Deployment Services (WDS)/ Windows Pre-installation Environment (WinPE) /Windows Automated Installation Kit (WAIK)/ and Pre-Boot Execution Environment (PXE).
    • Create custom OSD Task Sequences utilizing Microsoft scripting technologies and components such as PowerShell, WMI, VB Script, and XML.
    • Create complex and dynamic collections, advertisements, and SQL queries.
    • Manage local and remote site boundaries, sites, site systems, site roles, inter-site dependencies and communication.
    • Monitor all SCCM clients in order to maintain high service availability.
    • Perform advanced troubleshooting and problem resolution, to include but not limited to, issues with site-to-site communication, package distribution, SCCM advanced client and operating system deployment (OSD).
    • Manage SCCM role-based access in accordance with security policies.
    • Mentor and train junior level SCCM administrators.
    • Create, update, and maintain process and knowledge base documentation for software deployment, imaging, patching, etc. in Pier 1's ITSM system.
    • Create architectural diagrams, project plans, and presentations applicable to the SCCM 2012R2 environment. Assess existing SCCM 2012R2 infrastructure to provide recommendations, and research and integrate new technologies or upgrades. Participate in 24x7 on-call rotation.

    Education & Experience

    • 3-5 years of applicable experience required
    • Bachelor degree preferred
    • Must be an expert in using Windows Server and Desktop operating systems, the Systems Center Configuration Manager environment, Group Policies, PowerShell, and scripting technologies.
    • Familiar with the complexities of thousands and of remote network endpoints with sometimes limited bandwidth.
    • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
