    Are you an HR-living, marketing-loving, talent-developing Homebody (psst - we're all Homebodies at Pier 1!)?  If so, then consider becoming our HR Business Partner supporting Marketing!  Our HRBP's are assigned to specific business functions to manage and facilitate all aspects of the talent lifecycle related to organizational development and strategic HR, while serving as the direct business partner to Senior Executive leaders - and in this case, our Chief Marketing Officer! You would serve as the internal consultant to the business units to ensure consistency in effective implementation of the Pier 1 talent strategies and initiatives.

    Duties & Responsibilities

    • Partners with executive leaders on all talent management strategies and initiatives. Ensures talent strategies are aligned with business strategies. Conducts organizational design sessions to ensure the highest levels of organizational capability. Leads talent assessment discussions, understands the skills and competencies needed to meet organizational goals, identifies competency gaps, and devises solutions to address them. 
    • Partners with organizational leaders and managers in the Succession Development process and the creation of development plans for associates to include coaching on how to develop and implement the plans and participation in the evaluation of the outcomes. Understands and supports the succession plan for each Director and above and other critical roles in the company. 
    • Manages the human capital aspects of business strategy design and execution. Serves as coach and consultant to business leaders in ensuring they are developing and aligning their leadership capabilities to the organizational, strategic, and cultural needs of the company.
    • Assesses current culture and climate against the strategic needs of the business. Develops plans for engaging associates and reinforcing the desired culture. Supports the development, analysis, and facilitation of the Engagement Survey.

    Education & Experience

    • Bachelors Degree Required
    • 5+ years of experience with a balanced knowledge of HR Business Partner practices and Organizational Development, specifically Talent Management concepts, programs, and initiatives
    • Ability to manage and influence Executives and work in a matrix structure
    • Extensive knowledge of HR policies, procedures, and employment law
