Our Sr. PeopleSoft Software Engineer actively participates in software architecture design discussions and decisions by applying skills above and beyond the core elements of a software engineer. This role is responsible for engaging the delivery team and supporting the implementation of these decisions with a high-level of collaboration across delivery teams to include business users, IT teams, IT leadership, Product Owners and Scrum Masters. In addition, this engineer may engage in special assignments to prove out the validity of technical decisions prior to the implementation. This role is required to evaluate and propose recommended changes to meet current and future system needs.  This Sr. Engineer will be responsible for mentoring Software Engineers and fellow Senior Software Engineers.

Duties & Responsibilities

System solution architect. Participate in business and technical meetings to define requirements, propose creative solutions to meet business needs, develop written technical specifications when required. Work with technical resources to implement approved solutions.

Software development. Create appropriate, creative, efficient software solutions to meet business requirements.

Production support. Respond to production issues as reported, while developing rapid and creative solutions. Participate in an on-call rotation.

Leadership.  Provide mentorship, assistance and knowledge transfer to team developers. Perform code reviews and feedback for improved performance and efficiency.

Education & Experience

  • 5-10 years’ experience
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Strong finance and supply chain business process knowledge
  • Must have excellent technical skills with PeopleTools 8.5x+ (including Application Designer, Application Engine, Integration Broker, PeopleCode, PIA, etc.)
  • Full SDLC proficiency
  • Familiarity with Agile/Kanban work methodologies is a plus
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills is a MUST
  • Ability to adapt to change in a fast-paced environment
