Overview

The Visual Merchandising Specialist will supervise and lead VM execution of field projects including new stores, remodels, relays and new store concepts. Support Visual Merchandising, Stores, and the brand in training and execution of visual merchandising direction and tools to increase sales, and directly impact the customer shopping experience. Follow-up and provide feedback to Field Leaders on store VM execution to ensure consistency and quality. Partner with Project Administration to assist in developing direction to execute all projects.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead VM execution of field projects, including new stores, remodels, relays and new store concepts. Plan project timelines and monitor project development. Ensure VM standards are being followed through on-site training and project leadership. Provide project recaps.  
  • Develop and train out-sourced merchandisers on Pier 1 Basic Merchandising Standards. Work alongside Project Lead, of out-sourced merchandisers, to develop their project management skills and assist them in development and training of their team.
  • Work with Project Administration team to develop complete project execution plan for each project. This should include; Execution Guide, Merchandise Placement Floorplan, Fixture Install Timeline and other information needed to execute project. Ensure information in the Project Overview Communication, for each project, is complete and accurate.
  • Assist in providing VM direction and training to Regional Manager's. Support RM's during Seasonal Transitions with floor planning challenges and merchandise placement decisions


Education & Experience

  • 2 – year college degree preferred
  • 1 – 3 years experience
  • Requires general Microsoft Office abilities
  • InDesign a plus
  • AutoCAD a plus
  • Travel required 60%
  • Work weekends and occasional overnight shifts during project installations
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds (move furniture and fixtures) and climb ladders on a regular basis.
