Overview

To be a premier omni-channel retailer dedicated to providing superior service and a distinctive shopping experience in our stores and on our websites, we are now looking for an Omni-Channel Copy Director to join our team! The Omni-Channel Copy Director is a highly visible role and will be responsible for clearly articulating the Pier 1 brand and building brand excitement. Lead the concept, development and consistent execution of the Pier 1 brand purpose, voice and copy content across all channels including: stores marketing, e-com, mailers, social media, email, how-to guides and video, credit card/loyalty programs, client relationship marketing, print, social, and radio advertising, packaging, and internal associate programs. Must have strong leadership capabilities with the ability to manage multiple teams while delivering on deadlines and maintaining high quality standards.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Set and execute the strategic vision of the copy team. Identify the long-term omni-channel strategic direction for multiple product categories. Takes the copy lead in developing the brand voice. Collaborate with creative teams to ideate communication/creative strategies, concepts and ideas that meet business objectives and elevates the brand. Present concepts and final work to senior management in an effective manner. Be able to articulate how the work will support and help achieve business objectives while building the brand.
  • Creates insights to guide our omni-channel strategies through understanding customer’s needs and behaviors, competition and emerging technologies. Understands changing consumer trends to apply strategies and product branding that deliver added value. 
  • Responsible for the synergy of copy content across the omni-channel with the intent to create a consistent shopping experience for the customer.
  • Oversee brand editing - develop processes that ensure copy and grammar accuracy. Create and maintain style guidelines for use by copywriters and rest of organization.
  • Work with merchants and marketing team to strategize and create compelling communications that distinguish our products from competitors; introduce and launch new products; and communicate emotional and price value messages. Manage 12k plus sku descriptions for online annually. Goal to increase conversion/transactions and sales.
  • Leads cross functional teams of copywriters and editors to continually move the brand forward by 1) Researching and being on top of trends in the marketplace, home decor, and consumer behaviors 2) Present, test as indicated, and adopt new ideas that drive positive business impact 3) Provide creative direction to direct reports to ensure brand guidelines are followed, execution is on-strategy and information is accurate 3) Mentor development of team members.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelors Degree required
  • 5+ years of strong leadership concepting and directing advertising /product/promotional copy. 
  • Experience in home décor/furnishings/fashion a must. Omni-channel experience a must. 
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong teams necessary.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
