  • Overview

    The Digital Marketing Specialist will be responsible for supporting performance-based affiliate and partnership marketing efforts. Success in this role is defined by growth in direct-response traffic and revenue through ongoing optimization efforts and continuous budget reallocation. The ideal candidate will seek to improve current processes, feel comfortable creating new procedures, and enjoy living in the details. This role will also partner with internal teams to fully integrate affiliate strategies into overarching marketing initiatives. This role will be a critical component of all strategy, planning, execution, budgeting, reporting and analysis as Pier 1 Imports continues to expand its footprint in the ever-changing digital landscape. In addition, the Specialist will cross train and back up multiple digital channels to include Social, Search, Display, & Email marketing channels. 

    Duties & Responsibilities

    • The Affiliate Specialist supports the Sr. Manager and external agency in planning, execution, and analysis of all affiliate and marketing partnership activities. Coordinates with internal teams to support a seamless digital experience for sitewide and in-store promotions to product and category specific promotions. Execute tests across various markets & publishers to identify high value opportunities for optimization. Assists with monthly billing and paid placement campaigns across our top affiliate publishers.
    • The Specialist works closely with cross functional teams including eCommerce, Brand Marketing, Retail Marketing, Creative and more. This dynamic individual will also manage the relationship with partners, as well as lead communication with the affiliate network and agency to ensure best-in-class performance for a share of voice, traffic, conversion, sales, ROAS and related performance metrics.
    • Data Reporting: Gathers and analyzes data for regular campaign reporting, proactively looking to identify potential opportunities for improvement. Uses data analysis to summarize thoughtful program recommendations, driving traffic and revenue growth through campaign changes as a result. Constantly strives to improve traffic and sales volume at the lowest possible cost.
    • Project Management: Coordinates with internal teams to ensure that all deadlines are met for projects, utilizing internal technology partner Basecamp to do so. Maintains internal promotional flowchart/calendar providing vital information to all business stakeholders as changes occur. 
    • Industry Knowledge: Works with agency, affiliate network, and publishers to understand and implement latest offerings, participate in beta tests, and integrate Pier 1 customer data into marketing capabilities.  

    Education & Experience

    • Bachelor's degree in Marketing/Business/Communications or a related field.
    • 1+ years of digital marketing experience 
    • Working understanding of all incoming digital marketing channels including but not limited to; SEM, Email, SEO, Display, Mobile, Social, Affiliates etc.
    • Data focused personality with confidence in analyzing and acting on insights. Experience working with CRM data to inform and affect digital marketing campaigns. 
    • Strong background with Excel. Working knowledge of Adobe Omniture, Google Analytics  or other onsite analytics platforms. Experience with publisher networks is a plus.
