    Pier 1 Imports is changing our in-store experience and this change has created an exciting opportunity for a Director of Stores covering our California/Hawaii Territory.  With responsibility for over 100 stores you will turn corporate strategy into successful customer experiences by leading a team of 10 Regional Managers and by your passion for people, operations and visual merchandising. 

    Duties & Responsibilities

    In this exciting role leadership role you will:

    • Build a store’s environment that is focused on consistently delivering an exceptional, positive in-store customer experience.
    • Attract, hire, develop, inspire and retain top talent. 
    • Analyze the business and create and communicate clear action plans that optimize results and ensure effective execution of all operational activities. 
    • Drive consistent execution across multiple regions through setting direction, coaching and developing Regional Managers.  Drive profitable top line sales growth. 
    • Influence home office/company decision making. 
    • Ensure that the roles and responsibilities are implemented consistently in stores, supporting the company’s values, our customer, the associate and excellence in execution. 

    Education & Experience

    To be considered you should be an accomplished retail operating executive with experience in "best of class" retail environment known for having a strong customer focus. Specifically, the successful candidate will have moved up through store management with a variety of increasingly more responsible assignments and demonstrate success in strategic planning and overseeing all aspects of store operations.  Specialty retail preferred.
