  • Overview

    The International Supply Chain Analyst is responsible for supporting key projects while providing analytical and problem solving support for Pier 1 Import's import supply chain, a top 15 retail importer.  This includes the identification of improvement opportunities, data, analysis, design and implementation of processes to ensure effective shipment of goods to arrive on-time at final destination within cost/margin targets.

    Duties & Responsibilities

    • Provide robust analytical and problem solving support for import supply chain strategies focused on  optimizing freight cost, lead time, and reliability to support in-stock levels and merchandising margin goals.  Support projects/initiatives focused on the development of best in class processes, implementation {change management), and monitoring results.
    • Aid Int’l Logistics Managers in the planning of import flow, cost optimization, and oversee the successful shipment of new, promotional, and replenishment product. Given International Logistics unique position to see volume patterns across all departments, this role will. Consult cross-functionally to provide end to end solutions.
    • Conduct analysis of various supply chain data to ensure effective decision making and supply chain oversight. This includes the development of Excel/Access models and specialized reporting.
    • Pro-actively identify opportunities to improve data quality from internal and external partners.  Work with IT & external partners to address system issues as needed.
    • Evaluate capabilities of current providers and others in the market.  Provide analytical and project management support the procurement of logistic services from RFP, rate negotiations, contractual language, through to implementation of new providers.
    • Develop key performance indicators, design/construct reporting, measure performance, and conduct regular reviews with service providers.
    • Operational responsibilities include interfacing with Pier 1 Imports internal and external partners including but not limited to origin 3PL providers and vendors.

    Education & Experience

    • 4 – Year college degree required, Engineering, Int’l Business, or Supply Chain preferred
    • 1 – 3 years experience
    • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with ability to thrive in ambiguous environment
    • Proven ability to design and implement process improvements
    • Proficient in Excel and Access with ability to build decision models and tools
    • Experience with a global Supply Chain Management Platform is a plus
