  • Overview

    The Manager E-Commerce Drop Ship Operations is responsible for the timely and accurate readiness of Pier 1 drop ship vendors, merchandise, and inventory as well as ongoing performance excellence of the vendor base in order to support the sales and profitability of Pier 1's Vendor Direct to Customer program. The position is responsible for continual internal and external operational improvements of the program. The role will serve as an active participant in VDTC program leadership.

    Duties & Responsibilities

    • Manage the operational onboarding of VDTC vendors with regard to selling readiness in our 3rd party integration software.  Ensure complete and accurate setup prior to go-live.  Will be responsible for establishing and achieving vendor set-up throughput targets.  Manage test order process and give feedback to vendors based on performance.  Make decisions on any corrective action needed to bring vendors into compliance with program standards prior to launch.
    • Will have direct responsibility for ensuring that all vendors are delivering an exceptional customer experience according to program policies.  Actively monitor order fulfillment by VDTC vendors for timeliness and accuracy.  Give feedback and direction to vendors with regard to any customer service issues.  Partner with Pier 1 e-Commerce team and Customer Relations to quickly resolve any customer impacting issue.
    • Lead the effort to establish a system of key performance indicators around vendor activity.  Develop and implement a system for efficiently providing feedback to a large number of vendors.  Evaluate vendor KPIs to provide recommendations to the rest of program leadership with regard to vendor viability on a go-forward basis.  Enhance reporting to identify and resolve vendor fulfillment issues.
    • Collaborate cross-functionally to identify and lead the implementation of operational process improvement opportunities that will enable continued growth, scale, and sustainability of the VDTC program.
    • Maintains VDTC program policy and process documents in coordination with Vendor Relations, Legal, and Finance teams.

    Education & Experience

    • Bachelor's Degree Required 
    • 1-3 years experience
    • Excellent PC skills with knowledge of spreadsheet and database software
    • Experience in logistics or distribution operations desired
    • Familiarity with enterprise business systems such as inventory, warehouse management, or purchase orders a plus
    • Self-motivated and action/results oriented
    • Flexible and able to perform in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
    • Excellent communication skills necessary
