  • Overview

    We are currently looking for a Territory HR Manager to join the Pier 1 HR Team!  In this role, you would be assigned to a specific territory store operations team and serve as the HR partner to the Director of Store Operation.  You will also manage and facilitate all aspects of the talent lifecycle that supports the attraction, development, and success of associates in our field operations.  The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HR operations and talent management. 

    Duties & Responsibilities

    • Partner with field operations directors on all talent management strategies and initiatives. Understands the skills and competencies needed to meet organizational goals, identifies competency gaps, and develops solutions to address them.
    • Understands and supports succession planning / talent review process, critical jobs, and talent review. Consults on design of career paths and development plans for successors. 
    • Enhances and manages the company’s performance management and goal setting processes to drive company priorities and initiatives and support a culture of accountability.
    • Well versed in change management methodology; from change resistance, Kubler-Ross, to the applications of tools to help move company in same direction. Understanding of how to incorporate communication, training, stakeholder analysis, business processes, organizational design and effectiveness, and business readiness measurement into the change plan.
    • Ability to know when to address HR issue or redirect to Employee Relations team.
    • Supports the analysis and facilitation of the Engagement Survey and develops action plans to address areas of opportunity

    Education & Experience

    • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field (i.e., Business, Industrial Psychology, Human Resources, etc.) 
    • 3+ years of HR experience with a minimum of 1 year focused on talent management 
    • Experience in a multi-unit environment 
    • Understanding of human capital strategy and execution.
    • Ability to manage and influence dotted line or indirect relationships.
    • Flexibility, active listening and reasoning skills, good judgment and ability to consider complex issues and make informed decisions and sound recommendations. 
    • Ability to travel to territory upwards of 20%
