  • Overview

    The Manager of Visual Merchandising will produce seasonal and basic visual merchandising direction for 1000+ stores, covering over 20 merchandise categories. Provide direction that will create a visually appealing and organized shopping environment, helping to meet or exceed company sales and profitability plan.

    Duties & Responsibilities

    • Collect and analyze necessary data to provide visual merchandising communication training tools. Meet with buyers, planners, and allocators to discuss new SKUs, merchandise assortment, sales plan, in-store quantities, and in-store dates.  Analyze reports (Open to Buy, Best Seller, Sales Analysis) to make merchandise placement decisions.  Partner with store planning on any seasonal floor plan changes or fixture needs.  Partner with the store division on payroll transition strategies.
    • Create an overall store layout for each season. Set and photograph all store displays for each seasonal visual merchandising planner. Pull and return all product needs for photo shoots.  Work with photographers on the shooting, lighting, and photo shopping of each display. Partner with Marketing to determine a signing and graphics plan that will enhance visual displays and focus on key seasonal items and value priced merchandise.  Provide hands on training in the sample room and photo studio for the buyers that will give them a better understanding of seasonal set-ups. 
    • Work with Visual Merchandising Communications team on visual merchandising planner copy and layout. Create floor plans and furniture diagrams for seasonal guides.  Partner with other key Home Office departments such as Merchandising, Store Planning, and Marketing, to coordinate effective timelines for each season that will maximize sales.  
    • Oversee special projects, in the field and home office, as required. Work with, buyers, planning & allocations, and store communications on Test Merchandise direction.  Provide hands on training to field and home office associates that broaden their understanding of store layout challenges, business opportunities, and stock flow to increase sales.

    Education & Experience

    • Microsoft Office
    • Adobe Software: Illustrator, In-Design
    • AutoCad knowledge a plus
    • Organizational skills, writing skills, verbal and social skills a must
    • Photography and photo styling experience required
    • Ability to lift 50 pounds (move furniture and fixtures) and climb ladders on a regular basis
    • Up to 10% in and out of state travel required
